That's quite right, when I was playing WoW, people would unsheathe their swords, staffs, axes, w/e, and talk for hours about their visuals and look of enchantments. Warlocks were always staying aside, for their daggers and off-hands were so small that you could hardly see how it looks like. I'm kinda sorry for them.

Mostly Americans use the term "sound novel" instead of "visual novel". Also, you can hardly find any usage of this term on the net (though newcomers will use it no matter what...). Moreover, have you ever met abbreviation of sound novel (sn?)?
Anyway, this is not spoiler, as silvver has stated, the visual novel is one huge mind screw. Shkanontrice/Shakon is one of the most popular theories explaining all of the murders that occurred on Rokkenjima. Not a spoiler, sicne this cut is photoshopped.

Also, Umineko is called more often a Sound Novel than a Visual Novel.
